Webquest -- "Money Makes the World Go Round"

"Money Makes the World Go Round" Webquest
For this assignment we are to create a webquest using Zunal.com and submit at least one lesson plan along with the resources and worksheets. This assignment was a bit time consuming since we had to post up a working lesson plan with all the trimmings. This site was not too easy to work on, but the way it was organized allowed me to navigate my way through it. With a little time, i was able to get a short lesson on money online along with all the required parts to make my lesson ready-to-use. This site would be helpful to teachers and students as well since teachers can post online their own lessons. This is a site that allows teachers to share their lessons and other resources they feel is helpful to other educators. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate it as a 6 and that is because this was my first attempt at using this site.

My Quiz from QuizYourFriends.com

Rubistar

For this assignment we explored the website Rubistar as well as create a rubric using the features provided on this site. The site was somewhat easy to use however the advanced features were difficult for a first-time user like me to use. This assignment was worth the time since i actually had used one of the templates provided with little modification on my part. I would recommend this site for teachers to utilize since it provides some ideas for making rubrics for all subjects at the very least. I would rate this site a 5.

A fan of Smart boards

I had recently attended a presentation on Nov. 26 at GTC Elementary School on Smartboards and Clickers. The presentation was conducted by Ms. Soledad Camacho and was attended by several of my fellow education students. An open invitation was extended to me by my instructor Mr. John Jenkins and i gladly attended since i had never heard of a smart til that time. I was glad i went since i am now fascinated with this technology and i had so many ideas for it in my future classroom. I am very fortunate to be in a classroom that has a smartboard when i start my student teaching practicum in the Spring of next year. The presentation has familiarized me with its basic uses and i will definitely be learning more when i begin working with Ms. Ornes at Marianas High School in January.

Googlesearch: My headache relief

Planning lessons on chemical reactions and balancing equations are not all that its cracked up to be. I find myself studying harder now then i did back in high school. Fortunately, there are many interesting sites that offer some relief for my current situation. Its just a matter of filtering out the junk and getting right to the meat of the lesson. Thank goodness for Google.

Back at it again

It has been quite some time since i have been posting online. I am still learning as i go, so please forgive me if i make some classic beginner mistakes. I am currently taking ED480 which is a course that helps teachers and future teachers integrate technology to enhance student learning in the classroom.

Slideshows

In last weeks class we had sampled three sites that customized slide shows. As an activity we had created a slide show of images that followed the three little pigs story. It was fun to do and i am seriously planning on utilizing these sites for my other classes. I have yet to get into further exploration of the features offered but i highly recommend sites like rockyou.com and photobucket.com
